Cycoda offers several pricing options for its services:

Fixed Price Option

agreed fixed price for the service
staged payments where appropriate
delivery date(s) and a list of deliverables where appropriate
customer owns the copyright on anything produced
customer receives all source code, documents, drawings etc.

Daily Rate Option

agreed daily rate for the service
invoiced at the end of each month for work completed and delivered as required
customer owns the copyright on anything produced
customer receives all source code, documents, drawings etc.

Shared Risk / Joint Development Option

work out in advance a specification and price for the final 'product'
cycoda charges a proportion of the normal cost for the development work
cycoda retains copyright on all the design work and anything produced
customer is supplied with the final product (e.g. software in executable form only)
cycoda will supply copies of the final product to the customer for on-sale to its end-users
customer develops a product at lower cost while sharing the risk and the benefits

Which pricing option?

Choosing which pricing option depends upon your attitude to risk and the available budget. If there is enough development budget to cover the full development costs then the cheapest option is normally the "Daily Rate because the "Fixed Price" option normally includes a contingency in case something goes wrong. However if you take the "Daily Rate" option then you take the risk that the work takes more time than estimated. If you don't want to take this risk then the "Fixed Price" option is right for you. If you do not have enough development budget to cover the full cost of the project and want to maintain a development relationship with Cycoda then choose the "Shared Risk" option.
